TERMS AND CONDITIONS

 

 

Constables Carriage Company shall be known as ‘The Company’ and the person(s) hiring the vehicle shall be known as ‘The Hirer’. The Hirer, by making the booking accepts responsibility for every person traveling in the vehicle and fully agrees to the terms & conditions as follows:

 

All bookings taken require a deposit  to secure the car and the date. The balance of payment is payable one month prior to the wedding, occasion or event.. Payments are accepted by cash, cheque, Postal Order, Bankers Draft or Electronic Transfer payable to ‘Constables Carriage Company’, we regret we are unable to accept credit or debit cards.

A full itinerary must be provided to the company at the point of confirming the booking. This must contain all of the collection point details as well as contact names and telephone numbers at collection point. This should also include details for the location of the reception and if required any details of sites for photographs. Any changes to these details must be advised to the company, in writing/email at least 2 weeks prior to the wedding day. Should there be any change to the agreed itinerary on the day we reserve the right to levy an additional charge payable on the day.

A booking letter/email will confirm details of the itinerary as given at the time of booking or any written/emailed changes. We will not be liable for any changes to this itinerary unless we have been informed in writing or by email. This letter will include these Terms and Conditions. A further confirmation letter including balance amount shall be sent one month before the wedding/occasion date.

This service includes full wedding/event chauffeur insurance and public liability, an experienced chauffeur and the car dressed in ribbons and floral arrangements in accordance to the hirers specification at the time of booking or subject to any confirmed changes at least 7 days before the hire date. Any changes to floral arrangements may incur further costs.

All prices quoted are based on up to four hours hire* includes up to 3 passengers and within 15  miles radius of Brewood, Staffordshire unless otherwise negotiated. Where a hirer exceeds this time or mileage, we reserve the right to charge a waiting time & mileage. This charge of £30 per hour or £4 per mile will be charged..

The company ensures that the vehicle is maintained to a high standard to limit any possibility of a breakdown. However, the hirer must consider that vintage cars are old and although we will do all that we can to keep our car reliable and in good mechanical condition some parts and spares are not always readilly available.The company will not accept responsibility for mechanical, electrical breakdown however caused. Adverse weather conditions or for any inconvenience or loss suffered in consequence. In the unlikely event of a breakdown, every effort will be made for an immediate repair to the vehicle. However, we advise hirers to consider arrangments with family or friends to assist if necessary with replacement transport, this will be discussed at time of booking. A full refund shall be made if in the event we are unable to satisfy our obligations to the contract.

We will not be responsible for late or missed connections due to traffic congestion or adverse weather conditions on route to your destination, which are out of our control. We will always do everything we can to find alternative routes where possible. We do carry GPS Satelite Navigation System and mobile telephone to assist us if necessary.

The Hirer shall be fully responsible and liable for any damage caused both inside and outside the vehicle by The Hirer or any member and his/her party, howsoever caused. This includes incitement to ANY third party that results in damage to the vehicle or its contents. The Hirer will agree to be liable for the total retail cost of the repair and The Company will determine the location of the repairer. In additions, The Hirer will be liable to pay to The Company a fixed daily rate (determined by The Company) whilst the vehicle is out of commission for such repairs, plus any further incurred losses, i.e. lost bookings.

Although we will take every care, no responsibility will be accepted for any loss or damage to personal property or luggage. Smoking is not permitted in our vehicles.

In the event of cancellation by the hirer, the deposit is non-refundable. Cancellation within one month prior to hire date the balance shall be refunded. Cancellations within 14 days of the hire date shall be refunded 50%. We recommend hirers for weddings consider insurance to cover cancellation.

Owing to the law on seat belts and minors we are unable to accommodate children below the age of 3 years. Seat belts are not available in our car. Our car is not suitable for motorway use and will be limited to a speed of 30mph.
