Welcome To Constables Carriage Company Located in Brewood, Staffordshire, Constables Carriage
Company is family run specialising in offering a truly professional, reliable and individual service for your special day,
wedding, civil partnership, birthday, school prom or any other occasion that demands a grand arrival. Our 'cute'
1933 Wolseley 9 vintage car (thought to be only eighteen remaining in the world) has been restored and maintained to
a very high standard with most of its original features, ensuring that you will experience the same pleasure the original
owners enjoyed that guarantees a head turning attraction to any occasion. For your wedding our car is tastefully decorated
with flowers and ribbons. White, ivory or champagne dresses look outstanding against the black and burgundy paintwork, contra
opening doors allow easy access for large dresses, and is driven by a mature, courteous, articulate chauffeur in either
period costume or uniform to complement your own requirements. We invite you to view the car in its 'Motor-House' to
discuss all your individual requirements. Areas we
cover include Wolverhampton, Stafford, Dudley, Cannock, Walsall, Telford, Penkridge, Codsall, Albrighton, Shifnal, Pattingham,
Penn, Wheaton Aston, Featherstone, Wednesfield, Wednesbury, West Bromwich and all surrounding villages.
Important Announcement We regret that the opportunity to hire our vintage vehicle for the use other than weddings has
had to be suspended for the time being. This is owing to South Staffordshire Council and their recent
revision of policy that does not permit the use of our vehicle for hire; in their opinion they consider our service to
be a 'taxi' and is therefore subject to private hire regulations! Private hire regulations do not permit vehicles
older that 10 years and an engine capacity less than 1300cc to be licensed as a taxi.
You can appreciate our frustration over the introduction
of a policy that denies everyone, especially the young and the elderly, the opportunity to experience either their first journey
or to re-live a memory in a historic vehicle and being the only local operator of a historic car for events other than weddings
a policy that is, in our opinion, unfair and not implemented in the spirit in which it is intended. The objective of the legislation
is to raise the standards of vehicles and operators of vehicles like stretch limousines and unroadworthy vehicles. The irony
is that well maintained vehicles are being excluded.
